This Camp Is Doomed: A Dennith Grange Misadventure by Anna Zobel

A rundown camp in the woods, ten students with unusual powers and a mystery that quickly turns dangerous make This Camp Is Doomed: A Dennith Grange Misadventure an entertaining adventure for young readers. Written by Anna Zobel, this quirky middle-grade novel combines supernatural secrets, school-camp chaos, friendship and plenty of humour.

When students from Dennith Grange arrive at Camp Buttress, they discover that the facilities are far from welcoming. The camp is shabby, phone reception is nonexistent, and the adults seem increasingly concerned about the questionable safety arrangements. To make matters worse, strange things begin happening around the grounds.

Among the students, Céline is convinced that conspiracies are everywhere, while Fionn experiences unsettling premonitions connected to the colour blue. The group includes young people whose unusual abilities are still developing, making an already unpredictable camp experience even more complicated.

As mysterious events unfold and the possibility of a ghost becomes harder to ignore, the students must work together to uncover the truth and find a way through the danger. With imaginative characters, spooky surprises and laugh-out-loud moments, Anna Zobel creates a lively mystery about courage, individuality, friendship and growing up.

Perfect for readers who enjoy magical powers, school adventures, supernatural mysteries and funny stories with a slightly spooky edge, this novel offers an engaging introduction to the Dennith Grange Misadventures series.
