My Brother is a Beast

About the Book

My Brother Is a Beast by Damon Young, illustrated by Peter Carnavas, is a playful picture book celebrating brothers, family life and the wonderfully different things siblings can do. Through catchy rhymes and colourful illustrations, the story imagines what it would be like if your brother really were a beast.

A Funny Celebration of Brothers

The book introduces different brothers doing all kinds of unusual and energetic activities, from making music and exploring outdoors to creating imaginative adventures. At the centre is the narrator's own “beast” of a brother, whose wild and funny behaviour becomes a celebration of sibling relationships.

The rhyming text and lively illustrations make the story particularly enjoyable to read aloud, while the repeated structure can encourage children to join in with the words and predict the rhymes.
